One of our greatest treasures in this country is our First Amendment right to free speech as long as it doesn’t violate any law or cause physical harm anyone. So, it seems appropriate to recognize our right to free speech regarding digital TV. After all, the digital transition impacted a lot of people and not in a good way. Do you like digital TV? Is digital TV more trouble than it's worth? Whether you like digital TV or not, use your voice to tell your story on how digital TV impacted your life. Speak Your Mind

What a mess!

Who got the money? You know who, who in the senate or the house got the bribe to change from analog to digital. Was there a public discussion period? Why weren't we informed? I don't recall ever seeing anything in the paper. WHO GOT THE MONEY? Someone must have, because digital t.v. sucks and someone must have been paid off.Which senators or representatives or was it the president? WHO GOT THE DAMN MONEY?

DTV Scam!

DTV is such a scam from the cable company to try to get more people to buy cable. My box used to get one channel and now that wont even come in. This is such a racket!
—Guest JJJ

Digital TV is crap

I live 2 miles from the transmitter and my reception is intermittent. I have tried five different antennas. It seems to me that low power digital is a poor replacement for full power analog.

Digital TV Air signal

Over the Air digital tv is a BIG mess in Miami Florida! I agree its picture quality is better but thats it! I have tried for months getting an over the air picture on our HD kitchen tv, I even invested $$$ on a outdoor roof mounted HD antenna and still can't get 4 major network channels consistently. The governement needs to step in and fix this mess

Digital bad

Digital is the pits. The picture is good when the weather is perfect and trying to record is awlful. Should have left it alone.
—Guest LINDY

DTV sucks

This was supposed to be a step up! Yes, the picture is crisp...when you can actually GET a picture and keeping it is another thing all together. When the people upstairs from me are home - I get no reception; when a plane goes over - I get no reception; when the wind blows - well, you get the idea. What a rip - off. Buy a new antenna; buy a new TV; buy cable. Just another way to stick it to people who can't afford luxuries - who knew regular tv was a luxury!

Welcome to digital-Ha,Ha,Ha

I have been in the home entertainment repair service since i was in the 5th grade. The digital tv is a joke, with an analog signal picture and sound degrade as signal levels get weaker untill it becomes to snowy&noisy to watch but if you can stand a certain amount degradation you still have something, with digital the signal levels must be higher so that the data coming in can be decoded and displayed,it is much the same as a CD/Disc player the data read off the disc must be x number of bits per second or the microprocessor doesn't know what's happening.A computer is just a stupid machine without instructions (software) it can't do anything on its own. And yes it may be that this is some of the plot by the greedsters to do away with ANY free tv or radio. SHEEPPLE AWAKE we have the finest govt. money can buy, unfortunatly it's not the little guys that benefit.

Digital TV in SW Ohio

We cut the cable over a year ago. We have three TVs, on HDTV and two old analog TVs. On the HDTV downstairs, we pickup 35 channels with a $10.00 set of RCA rabbit ears. Upstairs, on one TV, we pickup 39 channels with a digital-analog converter box and the set of rabbit ears that came with the TV. On the other TV, we pickup 35 channels with an old set of rabbit ears and a digital-analog converter box. The picture on the HDTV is really great. The picture quality on both analog TVs is very good and looks like a DVD being played. I think we get such good reception because we live in a relatively flat area half-way between Dayton, OH and Cincinnati, OH. Over all, me and my wife are very pleased. But it seems we are the exception and not the rule when it comes to over-the-air digital television.

we've got our problems here in nw.mich.there have been times that i scan &scan&scanall day long and get nothing.i have a rooftop antenna that was working fine with analog.went & bought hdtv, now can't get nothing.

Can only get 1 station now

I can only get 1 station now where as I was able to get 6. I have a new dtv and roof top antenna. Called the stations and they can't seem to help. Called the FCC hot line they told me to call the stations to have them increase the signal. I called them and they said they can't do that. What a mess. And this goverment wants to run health care. Wow what a scam.

What a mess

TV has become such an important part in our lives, a blessing for anyone stuck at home with nothing to do. Now with the switch it is frustrating! Sometimes one channel will come in and most of the time it won't. We turned off our cable because, lets face it, they are getting higher and higher, now we are in the dark! I have to get our weather and news from the newspapers and the Internet. Couldn't the government spend our money on important things and leave tv alone?
—Guest tj

Bummer

Use to get ONE channel. After ivesting in a converter box and an amplifier, and spending hours moving the antenna, now get zero. Occasionally one channel comes in.It's a total rip-off.
