DESIGN SIZE WEIGHT - PACKAGING
The PowerSpec 30" Wide-Screen LCD-TV weighs just under 35 pounds and is only a few inches thick. Most adults will be able to move this LCD flat panel easily from room to room if desired. Overall, the design is nice and well-planned. The unit comes in a silver case with a one-inch black panel bordering the picture screen, which helps images stand out from the silver casing. All connections are on the back panel behind the screen, and are easy to access because they face the left and right side.
The PowerSpec comes connected with a swiveling table stand, but it comes off so you can mount the television to a wall with the right brackets (sold separately). With the table stand, you can easily adjust the horizontal and vertical angle of the screen. It is sturdy and easy to use. Also included is a power cord, an excellent instruction manual with warranty information, DVI cable, and a remote control with two AA batteries. The bonus is the 6 DVI cable, which would cost around $50 and up.
INSTALLATION
Incorporating this LCD flat panel into my home electronics system was easy. Because the unit is light and thin, it wasn't hard to remove it from the shipping box and place it on my entertainment center. Within five minutes I removed my old television, connected the PowerSpec to the necessary components, and was receiving a satellite signal.
INPUT/OUTPUTS
I thought splitting the connections between the left and right side of the back panel was a good idea, but was disappointed with the total number of connections. Even though it provided one connection of each - composite, component, RF-coaxial, S-Video, DVI, composite output it wouldve been nice to have a duplicate of at least the component and composite input to allow connection of similar devices without the need of a video switcher. With the growing number of people using their television to display home movies, I think a nice feature wouldve been to install composite or S-Video inputs on the front for easy access.
