Terms of the Rebate
In order to be eligible for the rebate, a Series 2 DVR must be purchased before November 27, 2005. Requirements also include a one year commitment to TiVo service or TiVo Plus service, but there is not an early termination fee if canceled within 30 days. Subscribers can pre-qualify at www.tivorebates.com or by mailing in the rebate form. Main-in rebates will need the original UPC code, and will take 10-12 weeks for the $150 check to arrive in your mailbox. Be sure to make a copy of your rebate information in case something goes wrong.
TiVo Looking for New Spokesperson
TiVo is also looking for the next face of their product by launching a nationwide contest to find the right person. Tom Rogers, CEO of TiVo said, "We're spreading the 'TiVo, TV Your Way' message far and wide with the launch of a nationwide contest to enlist our most passionate supporters, TiVo subscribers, to help get the word out about the new low price and about the benefits of watching TV with a TiVo box."
Of course, not everyone is eligible to be the new face of TiVo. Contestants must be members in the TiVo Rewards program, and have accumulated over 25,000 points prior to the contest start date of November 27, 2005. The winner will get some goodies that includes $25,000, a TiVo-branded Mini Cooper and 15-minutes of fame.
