Sony Unveils New Logo for BRAVIA Flat Panel LCD TVs

It was everything but the Bronx cheer as Sony Electronics introduced BRAVIA to the world on a right field sign at Yankee Stadium before a Yankee 7-0 shutout of the Toronto Blue Jays on August 22, 2005. BRAVIA stands for Best Resolution Audio Video Integrated Architecture. It is a new sub-brand for Sony's line of high-definition LCD TVs.

"I'm confident that BRAVIA will become as important and recognized as Sony's Trinitron brand," said Dick Komiyama, president and chief operating officer for Sony Electronics. "Consumers look to Sony for leadership in television and BRAVIA signals a completely new tradition -- it is the culmination of 36 years of innovation and expertise in TV. Teaming BRAVIA and the New York Yankees is a winning combination"

The BRAVIA logo will be on all Sony high-definition flat-panel LCD TVs in North America. It is also no surprise that the unveiling occurred at a Yankee Stadium because the Bronx Bombers are the official team for Sony's 2005 LCD televisions.

Sony says five LCD TVs in the 26 to 40-inch range will be the first models to sport the BRAVIA logo. Models will be announced soon. For more information, visit Sony at www.sonystyle.com
