like the versatility of a 37" television. It resides in that middle-ground category of a television large enough for a family room but small enough for the bedroom. This list contains some 37" LCD TVs that I think are nice products.
By the way, 37" is the largest screen size you'll find products consistently priced at or under $1000. I will preface that not all televisions on this list are always under $1000 but you can find them if you wait for sales or the occassional refurbished product.

3. LG Electronics M3701C-BA 37" LCD Display
- Does not have a built-in ATSC digital tuner
- 1600:1 contrast ratio
- 8ms response time
- DVI and Component inputs
- 1366 x 768 (WXGA) resolution
This is a nice-looking LCD TV from LG Electronics that has DVI with HDCP (DVI can connect to HDMI components with an adapter). LG lists the contrast ratio as 1600:1 but I saw it for 1200:1 at Pricegrabber. The bottom line is that it's pretty good. The specs are all comparable to other models in this price range. The only downside is the lack of a built-in digital tuner.
4. ViewSonic N3751w 37" LCD TV
- Has a built-in ATSC digital tuner
- 1000:1 contrast ratio
- 8ms response time

ViewSonic makes computer monitors so you have to believe they know a thing or two about LCD displays. This patricular television looks interesting. For starters, the N3751w has three HDMI inputs with HDCP. The picture enhancement technology is called ClearPicture, so basic cable/satellite should look pretty good. The other specifications mimic other models within this category.
5. Westinghouse LTV-37W2 37" LCD TV
- Has a built-in ATSC digital tuner
- 1000:1 contrast ratio
- 8ms response time
- Three HDMI with HDCP inputs
- 1366 x 768 (WXGA) resolution
The Westinghouse LTV-37W2 is actually a little more than $1000 but I felt it should be on this list since it will show up for less than $1000 when it goes on sale, like at Best Buy. The bottom line is that Westinghouse makes a good product. This television is consistent in specifications with other models in this list. It has one HDMI input.
