Many manufacturers at the 2006 International CES in Las Vegas, Nevada, displayed examples of their newest technology. In this photo gallery, the images displayed are all of Blu-Ray high definition DVD players, which is one type of player the consumer will soon be able to purchase that plays high definition DVD content.
Samsung is expected to be the first manufacturer to put a Blu-Ray player on store shelves, which should be sometime in April. The competition to Blu-Ray is HD-DVD led by Toshiba, which will beat Blu-Ray to the stores with a March release for its HD-DVD player.
