Is Your Digital Converter Box Working?

From Matthew Torres, About.com GuideJune 17, 2009

The digital transition has left some people with out a television signal. Reasons for signal loss are various - inaccurate antenna alignment, converter box issues, live in an area impacted by the new Federal Communications Commission (FCC) translator station program.

The point is that there are a lot of factors in why you might have lost a TV signal over the weekend. Fortunately, there are ways to fix most reception problems. Typically, I start with these five questions when it comes to troubleshooting a digital converter box:

  1. Is Everything Powered On?
  2. Is Everything Connected Properly?
  3. Is Your TV Tuned to the Correct Channel and Correct Input Source?
  4. Did You Configure the DTV Converter Box Properly?
  5. Is the Antenna Aligned Properly or in the Best Location?
