I just got an XBOX 360 the other day. I want to connect it to my DLP TV's one HDMI port but that port is currently being used by my upscaling DVD player. This posed a slight problem because if I were to use the port for both components then I would have to unplug one each time. Or would I?

By purchasing a HDMI switcher I could plug both items into the same HDMI port. The switcher would display the signal on the HDMI source channel that is currently active. In a way, a switcher is like a USB hub for a PC except it is for the TV. And, it only shows one signal at a time so I would only be able to either play XBOX 360 or watch a DVD but not both - at least not through the HDMI port.

Blog like this are ok…the only problem is that you give some info, but never solid info. So you use two HDMI interfaces into one….but do you say what brand/part you use…is it a manual switch, need a remote, anything. Nope…never. Blogs like this deserve on glance, and that is it….I’ll pass on further reading from you.

Response to Duder: Thanks for the comment but obviously you didn’t read the article. The switcher comes with a remote control. It is not auto. The brand is Accell. It is compatiblewith HDMI and DVI sources as long as they have HDMI tip going into switcher.
