I think the reason this is one of my most popular articles is because it applies to everyone that owns or is thinking of owning a high definition television. Cable and satellite prices are high enough that saving a buck here and there makes sense.

Sure, you can get more HD channels by subscribing to a premium HD package but not everyone wants to buck up and spend an extra $10-15 a month to get a few channels in HD that they might watch. I'd rather save the money and use it toward my text message plan and watch the channels I know I'll watch for free.
