Comparison of Cable, Satellite and IPTV Services for Digital and HD Programming

Wednesday July 25, 2007
Yesterday, I wrote about Verizon releasing their FiOS TV service into more New York markets. Even though FiOS isn't offered in my area, I was curious to see if IPTV really was a better deal than cable or satellite in my area.

Of course, this was all conditional because there are so many packages to choose from, deals for new and current subscribers and personal preferences.

Still, I did it.

I called companies in my area to see where they stacked up against each other with respect to a similar programming package. The end result is that IPTV was very competitive and is arguably the better deal. If only I had had access to it.

The study is interesting though and can be something you could use when considering changing providers.
