1080P Televisions

From Matthew Torres, About.com GuideApril 21, 2007

In a television, 1080p represents the highest resolution possible with today's technology. This is the high end of high definition. While most content producers don't shoot in 1080p, there is a great promise of the TV industry moving toward this format.

You could argue that 1080p is an unrecognizable visual improvement over 720p or 1080i images. Still, there are people that swear by 1080p as the leader in visual quality. Therefore, if you need the high end then this is the way to go. If not, this is still a good barometer of comparison between other HD displays.
