Ruckus Wireless MediaFlex System

Monday January 1, 2007
I can't think of a better way to kick off a new year than by showcasing a new product within a new technology that you will hear a lot of in the coming year - Internet Protocol Television.

A company called Ruckus Wireless has a line of products designed to make Wi-Fi in the home as strong as cabled technology. Wi-Fi has some problems. It is subject to signal loss or hiccups due to interference and high bandwidth streams. Ruckus has figured out a way to get around that issue by developing a MediaFlex System that incorporates their BeamFlex and SmartCast technology, which (in overly simplified terms) is a combination of signal traffic cop and repairer.

Their MediaFlex System is a gateway, router and adapter. The average person will likely only use the router and adapter.
