Antenna Tips: Foiled Again

Tuesday June 20, 2006
I'm watched Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals last night. The game was on NBC. I have satellite, but I use an antenna to receive high definition programming from local stations. My local NBC affiliate never comes in good for me on HD. While trying the local affiliate for a HD feed of the game I got a glimmer of a signal in HD. This led to hope

Then lightening struck, the light bulb went off and genius was born. I remembered the good old days of rabbit ears with foil wrapped around them at my grandparen's house. "What the heck. I'll give it a try," I thought.

Success! It worked.

Whether this is a feasible solution to my poor reception of NBC or just a fluke isn't an issue to me right now. I got to watch hockey in HD. However, it is an issue to my significant other, who refuses to live in the house with foil hanging from an antenna above the TV. Point goes to the lady, and the foil goes back to the kitchen.

The point is that if you must use an indoor antenna then try aluminum foil to improve your reception. It just might work.
