Enhanced Definition Televisions With Built-In Tuners
Tuesday April 11, 2006
I like going to the electronics store to do a side by side comparison between enhanced definition and high definition televisions. While there is a subtle difference, it really isn't enough to warrant a 4-figure jump from ED to HD.
Simply stated, enhanced definition is a good alternative to high definition. Not only do most EDTVs support HD programming, but they cost considerably less. EDTVs display video in 480i and 480p. HD signals are displayed on an EDTV in 480p, which is DVD quality.
