Cox Communications Unveils New Icon

Tuesday July 5, 2005
Cox Communications went to the bag of old tricks by creating a family-friendly spokesperson...I mean spokestoon. According to Cox's brand promise, Digital Max is “Your Friend in the Digital Age.” D-Max was unveiled by Cox in mid-June to a handful of markets, but should be introduced by the end of the summer to all of their territories.

A little behind the competition, Cox is undertaking a massive upgrade of equipment and services. This is where Digital Max becomes vital as he's the face of a new Cox Communications - educating consumers on Cox's new products like high-speed Internet, home networking and interactive television.

“Digital Max is our new voice in an increasingly crowded competitive arena in which the choices and messages in the marketplace have become nearly dizzying to consumers. As we experience an explosion in digital entertainment and online capabilities, Max will help us simplify the message and connect with our customers in a memorable and often amusing way," said Dena Malsom, director of marketing communications and branding for Cox Communications.
