Double Female RF Connector

Wednesday April 27, 2005
Last summer, I moved into a house that had a problem - the coaxial cable coming from the wall wasn't what I expected. Instead of a wall plate featuring the common F-jack female end, I had a 6-inch cable jutting out from the wall with the male end. This meant I couldn't connect my RF cable to the wall because they both sported the same end. To combat this issue, I went to my local electronics store and bought a 'double female RF (barrel) connector.'

This less than $5 device solved my problem. It's also useful for those who have several 8-10' cables, but need 15' to get the job done. This is another issue I battled with because the cable outlet was on the wrong side of the room. I needed twice the length one of my coaxials could provide. I used a double female RF connector to combine a couple of cables and create the length I needed.
